It all began in 1953 when I was 2 years old and my dad bought 5 acres of land in upstate New York where he created the most incredible organic farm that I have yet to find a match for.  Besides growing the most amazing vegetables including kale, collard, swiss chard, etc., he also grew every herb imaginable as well as rose hip bushes, peach and apple trees, cantaloupe, watermelon, root vegetables and pumpkins galore.  Little did I know that I would follow in his 'love of healthy foods' footprints.

I enrolled in the Institute For Integrative Nutrition and became a health coach over a decade ago. At that time and many years thereafter, I looked to food as the source of creating wellness in body and mind. While learning from some of the best minds in nutrition and over 100 different dietary theories, I realized humans are extremely complex and what works for one person is not necessarily going to work for the next. We are biologically individual in every aspect of life.

After graduating from nutrition school, I explored many avenues of health — a raw diet, macro diet, vegan, Ayurvedic, etc. Each one had their advantages and disadvantages. What I did learn was that whatever diet (or food choice) I adhered to, I made sure I was eating organically grown “whole” foods — nothing processed. While this was definitely a good idea, there was still something missing. I coached several clients in the early days and with each person I had to tailor their foods, their exercise program, and many of their lifestyle choices. This became exhausting and resulted in a few beneficial results, but overall there were still health issues that would surface after time.

Fast forward to present day — I have taken a deep dive into Quantum Biology and cannot believe I never knew anything about the subject. I am researching everything I can get my hands on and am currently enrolled in the FIRST EVER Circadian Certification Program. I am learning from the most awesome educators who are doctors, neurosurgeons, PhD’s, etc. and understanding how the body really works. We are ‘electrical beings’ taking our cues from our environment (starting with the sun) and we can actually ward off or reverse dis-ease by incorporating small steps every day. FOOD ALONE WILL NOT GET YOU THE RESULTS YOU’RE LOOKING FOR!! I can tell you firsthand that I have eaten SO CLEAN for many, many years and the same issues were never really gone.

Changing my “light” environment has created massive shifts in my overall wellbeing. For 30+ years, I had a cyst next to my thyroid (no thyroid issues though) and incorporating sunlight into my regimen, the cyst has disappeared! At 71 years old, I have more energy than I did when I was in my 20’s, I sleep like a baby and am always happy!! I know without a doubt that getting into nature every day, seeing the sunrise every morning, being in the sunshine during the day, going out as late in the day to see the sun setting and mitigating artificial light is adding years to my life.
